During that one hour, you can ask the driver about Mount Ijen or just simply get some short sleep before beginning the adventure. At the Paltuding Post, you will get the short briefing and the essential dust mask while enjoying a cup of tea/coffee.

After the short briefing, the climbing session starts! The 3-km track takes 1.5-2 hours of ascent. The second you get to the top of the crater, that’s when the stunning sightseeing moment begins. With the super heavy load up to 70-100 kg, they carry the load on their own shoulder. You can buy some little sulfur tokens from them as souvenirs.
