  1. Tegenungan Waterfall

    Located in the village of Kemenuh 30-minute drive from Central Ubud or an hour drive from Seminyak or Canggu. Tegenungan Waterfall is one of the most famous waterfalls near Ubud. Besides, it’s just nearly 2 miles away from Sukowati Art Market. So, visiting both touristy spots will surely make a great combo. 

    This Bali Waterfall is also pretty easy to reach and is family-friendly. Many locals throng this spot, especially on weekends and holidays. This waterfall does not have a heavy current, so you could certainly take along your little ones and safe to take pictures around waterfalls.

    Note: Sometimes during storm or where strong wind is present, it can be dangerous to swim in this waterfall. But, don’t worry! There are always some safer spots where you can go for a dip or cool down.

    Another waterfall near Ubud to visit is Kanto Lampo Waterfall. Different from the famous Tegenungan Waterfall, this one is less famous and is in the middle of the jungle. This makes Kanto Lampo Waterfall as one of Bali’s hidden gems. So, it’s nice for a little tranquil getaway from the crowd of Ubud. 

    However, as Kanto Lampo Waterfall has been gaining popularity, this gorgeous spot can be packed with tourists too. That’s why it is advisable to go there as early as possible. The path to go down the waterfall itself is an easy one (but can be slippery, so watch your steps!).

    Kanto Lampo Waterfall itself is a unique waterfall. It is a large body of water falling down the rocks and into the river. You can get into the waterfall by climbing the rocks. (It can actually produce some epic photos!) But, be careful as the wet rocks are slippery!

  3. Goa Rang Reng Waterfall

    Just like what you can expect from its name, this waterfall features a nearby sacred cave. You can find Goa Rang Reng Waterfall in Bakbakan, roughly 7.7 miles away from Central Ubud. Also, it’s only an approximately 6-minute drive from this waterfall to Kanto Lampo Waterfall in Beng. 

    Goa Rang Reng Waterfall offers a very unique waterfall experience. Different from any other waterfall, the uniqueness of this waterfall is the water does not flow down like a waterfall in general. The flow of water here spreads through the steps of the rocks, so it is more gentle and not steep.

    If you want, you can also go to the top of the waterfall. Just find some ropes attaches to the rocks and go with its help. Goa Rang Reng Waterfall also has several pools to dip and cool yourself down.

  4. Tibumana Waterfall

    Located about 9.5 miles from Central Ubud, you can reach Tibumana Waterfall Bali within 43-minute drive. After a roughly 10-minute walk from the car park, you’ll get to this waterfall, which is one of Bali’s kept-secret spots. Tibumana Waterfall also has safe pool to swim, as long as you’re keeping your distance to the stream. Its scenic view makes this waterfall a favorite for photography addicts. 

    To get into the waterfall area, you need to do easy walk with lush greenery on both sides. Along the way, you will notice endless rice fields and sneak peak inside the local people taking care of their animals or wandering around the rice fields. Don’t hesitate to take some photos in the middle of rice field! When you are at Tibumana Waterfall, you can enjoy swimming in the natural wide plunge pool.

This makes a great combination with the view of the waterfall itself.

    To reach the waterfall areas, you need to step on its 509 concrete stairs leading down to the waterfall.
