1. Sacred Monkey Forest, 650 m, 7-min walk
Don’t leave Ubud without stepping in the sacred Monkey Forest of Ubud. This is a highlight of any Ubud day tour. Here, you can find and greet the playful troops of grey macaques. Other than absorbing the tranquil vibes of the sacred forest, you can also pay a visit to the three-temples built there to honor the Hindu God in personification as Shiva, Gangga, and Prajapati.
2. Ubud Palace, 750 m, 10-min walk
If you’d like to know about Balinese luxurious traditional architecture, make sure you visit Ubud Palace when you’re staying in Ubud. This is where the royal family used to live. Besides the traditional grand building of Bali, you can learn more about the history and culture of the palace. Also, this place hosts a cultural performance nightly that you can enjoy.
3. Ubud Market, 800 m, 10-min walk
Just across from the palace, here is the place to shop for some artworks and souvenirs. Ubud Market is where you can get closer to the locals and feel the Balinese local life. 4. Saraswati Temple, 900 m, 12-min walk
Another place in Ubud to watch the magical cultural show. Saraswati Temple holds a mystical Kecak Dance twice a week, every Tuesday and Thursday night. As the name suggests, this temple is dedicated to Saraswati, the goddess of learning, literature, and art. The iconic landmark of this gorgeous water temple is the lotus pond, where the magical show is held at night.
5. Campuhan Ridge Walk, 1.8 km
Ready for a long, peaceful walk to maintain the health of your body and mind during your vacation? Have a nice stroll along the Campuhan Ridge Walk. You will walk pass the wall of Gunung Lebah Temple. After that, enjoy the mesmerizing view of the verdant greenery on both sides. Campuhan Ridge Walk is a hilly pathway that has almost no shady place to rest. So, the best time to enjoy a hike in this track is early in the morning or at late afternoon when the sun is not too beaming.
